Quando non prestiamo attenzione a ciò che accade attorno a noi, non ci rendiamo conto che il momento presente porta con sé della magia, proprio così esiste la magia del momento presente che ci fa scoprire molti dettagli.
A volte possiamo sperimentare la vita come una sequenza continua di eventi irrilevanti che sembrano non portare da nessuna parte. Possiamo avere la sensazione di correre come criceti su una ruota, cercando di sfuggire a ciò che ci spaventa e puntando a un paradiso sicuro e incerto. E meno ci riusciamo, più corriamo…
Per uscire dalla ruota del criceto dobbiamo smettere di fuggire e di rincorrere gli obiettivi. Abbiamo bisogno di fermarci, non muoverci, interrompere pensieri e emozioni. Dobbiamo smettere di essere occupati con il passato e con il futuro. Dobbiamo trovare un modo per rimanere nel momento. Se riusciamo a farlo, ci rendiamo improvvisamente conto dell’enorme quantità di opzioni che abbiamo. Ci guarderemo intorno e vedremo con meraviglia quanto è ricco di dettagli ciò che ci circonda.
Potremmo sperimentare quanto sia dolorosamente prezioso questo singolo momento perché il nostro cuore sa che non si ripeterà più. E potremo renderci conto che tutte le ferite del passato e le paure per il futuro non sono altro che una paranoica finzione della nostra mente che ci distrae dalla bellezza di essere vivi – e ci impedisce di intraprendere azioni rilevanti, se necessario.
