The bliss of not knowing
Knowledge is power – at least this is how we’re educated but it exists also the bliss of not knowing. So we shape our way of thinking and of perceiving the world around the aim of getting more knowledge. When we know, we feel that we control life. But as life is unpredictable, knowledge doesn’t give us true relief. Even more, knowledge alienates us from perceiving reality, because we helplessly prioritize what we know over what we perceive. And without perceiving reality in its fullness, our body feels “blind”. This leads us to live in a constant state of stress.
Not knowing – on the other side – may be frightening. But as soon as we agree to exchange knowledge for curiosity, as soon as we allow our body to dive into the pure experience of perception, we may realize that not knowing is bliss: a state of excited communion with the world we live in.
